Quick answer: The Volatility 100 Index (V100) is a Deriv synthetic index with a constant volatility of 100%, so it moves fast and evenly at all hours. V100 (1s) produces a new price every second instead of every two seconds. V50 has half the volatility, so it moves more calmly. There is no best hour, because synthetics run 24/7 with the same behaviour; pick the index whose speed matches your risk, and size trades small.
Volatility 25, 75 and 100 compared over the same two hours of real data
Real data: V100 covers a much wider range than V25 in the same two hours.

What Is the Volatility 100 Index?

Deriv’s Volatility indices simulate markets with a fixed volatility level (10, 25, 50, 75, 100). The number is the volatility percentage, so V100 swings about twice as much as V50 and ten times as much as V10 over the same period. Prices are generated by Deriv’s random number generator, so there is no news, no market hours and no fundamental drivers.
