Deriv Accumulators Explained: Growth Rate, Barriers, Take-Profit and Risk

How Accumulators Work
- Choose an index and a growth rate.
- Deriv sets a barrier range around each tick.
- Each tick inside the range, the payout grows by the growth rate.
- If a tick touches or crosses the barrier, the contract closes and the stake is lost.
- You can sell early, or a take-profit closes it at your target.
Growth Rate vs Risk
| Growth rate | Range | Typical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Low (1–2%) | Wider | Slower growth, survives more ticks |
| High (4–5%) | Tighter | Fast growth, knocked out sooner |
Managing Accumulator Risk
- Use a take-profit; do not wait for "one more tick".
- Prefer lower growth rates while learning.
- Keep stakes small and set a daily stop-loss.
- Test on demo; record how many ticks contracts usually last.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do Deriv accumulators work?
Your payout grows by the growth rate each tick while the price stays inside the barrier range; touching the barrier ends the contract and loses the stake.
Which growth rate is best for accumulators?
Lower growth rates give a wider range and survive longer; higher rates grow faster but end sooner. Test on demo.
Can I set take-profit on accumulators?
Yes. A take-profit closes the contract automatically at your target.
Are accumulators risky?
Yes. One tick touching the barrier loses the whole stake.
