Quick answer: Sign up free at Deriv (open an account), confirm your email, and your account opens with a demo account holding 10,000 USD in virtual money. Switch between Demo and Real from the account menu. You can reset the demo balance to 10,000 USD from the account switcher at any time.

How to Open a Deriv Demo Account

  1. Go to the Deriv sign-up page.
  2. Enter your email and confirm it from the link Deriv sends.
  3. Choose your country of residence and create a password.
  4. Your demo account (virtual USD) is ready immediately; no deposit or ID is needed for demo.

How to Reset or Top Up the Demo Balance

Open the account switcher (top right), select the Demo account and choose Reset balance. It returns the balance to 10,000 USD. You cannot add "real" money to a demo, and demo profits cannot be withdrawn.

How to Open a Deriv Demo MT5 Account

  1. In Deriv, open Trader's Hub and select Demo.
  2. Under CFDs, choose Get on an MT5 account type (e.g. Standard).
  3. Create an MT5 password; note the login number and server shown.
  4. Log in from the MT5 app with that login, password and server.

Log in to H-BOT Africa with Deriv, select your demo account, and test bots, the Scanner and signals with virtual money. This is exactly how we recommend learning: see best Deriv bot settings.

How to Trade on Deriv: First Trade

  1. Choose a market, e.g. Volatility 75 Index.
  2. Choose a trade type: Rise/Fall, Digits, Multipliers or Accumulators.
  3. Set duration and stake; the payout shows before you buy.
  4. Buy and watch the contract settle in your history.

Moving to a Real Account in Kenya

When you are ready, switch to Real, complete your profile and verification, and deposit. Deriv lists the deposit methods available in your country, which for Kenya include M-Pesa options. Start with an amount you can afford to lose completely.

Demo first, always: demo and real use the same prices, so a strategy that loses on demo will lose on real money too. Real trading also adds emotion; start small.

Risk warning: Trading Deriv products such as digit options, multipliers and synthetic indices is high-risk. You can lose all the money you deposit, quickly. No bot, signal or strategy can guarantee profit, and past results do not predict future results. Practise on a demo account first, only trade money you can afford to lose, and check that Deriv is allowed where you live. This guide is education, not financial advice.
