What Is the Real Minimum to Start?

Technically USD 5 by M-Pesa. In practice, a tiny balance makes good risk control hard: with $5 and 2% risk, your trade size would be $0.10, below many contract minimums. Many traders practise on the free $10,000 demo first and deposit only an amount they can afford to lose (see growing a small account).

Avoid Failed or Slow Withdrawals

  1. Verify your account (proof of identity and address) before you need to withdraw: {L("deriv-account-verification", "verification guide")}.
  2. Withdraw to the same method you deposited with where possible.
  3. Use only payment agents listed inside your Deriv cashier, never an agent found on WhatsApp or Telegram.
  4. Check your M-Pesa limits: Safaricom allows up to KES 250,000 per transaction and a KES 500,000 balance.

Step-by-step guides: deposit with M-Pesa and withdraw to M-Pesa.
